Supreme Court orders Yak&Yeti to resume its operation

Kathmandu Jan 15-Supreme Court today has issued an interin order to the magament of Hotel Yak & Yeti to resume its daily operation. In the same vein,the court also ordered the staffs of the hotels to give up blindfolding . The supreme court issued an order in the name of Trade Union affilated with Hotel Yak &Yeti.

The hotel management filed the case against in supreme court, some three weeks back, after the staffs of hotel resorted to strike demanding 6 per cent increment in their salaries apart from medical treatment facility. The bench of jurists comprising Paramananda Jha and Gauri Dhakal issued an interim order after the hearing from lawyers of both parties.

The staffs of the hotel launched the strike in order to pressurize the hotel management to raise their salaries & perks apart from demanding medical treatment facility. However, the hotel management refused to fulfill their demanding citing the continous downfall in its business transaction. The supreme court had already issued a show cause notice to hotel management in this connection. The hotel has been virtually shutdown after its staff launched an indefinite strike.
