Kathmandu April 14- The NHRC on Thursday forwarded a letter to APF’s SSP Madhav Thapa, summoning him to the NHRC office for questioning about excessive use of force by security forces in Gongabu, Kathmandu, on Tuesday. The excessive use of force, including opening fire at protesters caused injuries to hundreds of demonstrators, NHRC said. It recommended the government take legal action against the guilty security forces and their “commanders.” The NHRC urged the government to provide free medical treatment to all the injured individuals. It flayed the security forces for using excessive force against demonstrators.
