CJ Meets Bar Officials to Discuss Resignation Demand

Chief Justice Dilip Kumar Poudel is holding a meeting with Nepal Bar Association officials at the Supreme Court to discuss the demand for his resignation sought by MPs in yesterday’s session of the House.

The meeting was reportedly called CJ to persuade the Bar to lobby with political parties not to seek his resignation in the House. The CJ is said to be even ready to reconsider the appointment of Pawan Kumar Ojha as apex court justice, said Bhruba Nath Pant, president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

All SC justices, including the Chief Justice, all executive members of the NBA and SC Bar are attending the meeting.

Pant said the SC Bar has decided to boycott the Law Day programme to be organised by the SC tomorrow.
