The ex-army were got irritated after the hearing scheduled for today could not taken place. A division bench of Balram KC and Tahir Ali Ansari was to take up the case but Justice KC decided not to do so, as he had represented the the ex-armymen welfare council in the case when he was an advocate before being appointed SC judge.
The ex-armymen had filed a contempt of court case five months ago after the authorities concerned, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Nepal Army, did not produce the documents before the SC despite several court orders.
The writ petition filed against the Ministry and the Nepal Army has been pending for the last four years. The retired armymen claimed that the high-ranking army officials had been misusing the fund and the armymen were not given all facilities as per the agreement withthe UN.
Registrar of the Supreme Court, Dr Ram Krishna Timalsena, said the hearing on ex-army men’s writ petition was scheduled for tomorrow but it is up to the bench to take a decision.
