Challenge in military Act .

Prajowl Basnet ,former Major of Royal Nepalese Army ( RNA) has made an application in supreme court to revival it decision about military decision. RNA has dismiss him from the post when he filed writ in the supreme court for resign . In the application, he raise that the court has not given any verdict on the jurisdiction of its own .

SC ruling on detainee

The Supreme Court ruled today that there was no ground to order the government authorities to release Gyanendra Tripathi, a Maoist student leader, as the Police Headquarters and the Home Ministry had given it in writing that they never arrested Tripathi. Issuing the order, a bench of justices Khil Raj Regmi and Bal Ram KC also quashed a habeas corpus petition, which was filed seeking the court intervention on the matter.

Robbers, thieves caught

Crime investigation branch of the Kathmandu Valley Police has arrested two persons on charge of looting property worth more than one million rupees from different houses in Kathmandu at different times in disguise of Maoists. The Valley Crime Investigation Branch (VCIB), Hanumandhoka, said Kalpana Gurung and Komananda Khadka were arrested on the charges. Police arrested Gurung from Bouddha and Khadka from New Baneshwor two days ago. Gurung, 17, hails from Sindhupalchowk and Khadka from Dang district. Police recovered Rs 150,000 from them and also seized a fake pistol, khukuri, knife, camera, and a television set. Police said they were involved in looting houses posing themselves as Maoist guerillas and that they looted Rs 1,075,000 from the house of Hommaya Thamsung, Rs 200,000 from the house of Jiban Rai and Rs 20,000 from the house of Lalit Bahadur Limbu in Kathmandu within a period of last six months.“They have been sent to Kathmandu District Police Office, Hanumandhoka, for carrying out legal procedures,” police said. In another case, police yesterday arrested Ram Khatri of Dolakha and Rajkumar Parajuli of Dhading on charge of stealing money from two retailers at Mahabouddha. The duo stole cash Rs 4,000 and a table watch from the shop. Further investigation is underway, police said.
