CJ leaves for China
Kathmandu Sept 4-Chief Justice (CJ) Dilip Kumar Poudel left the capital on Saturday to take part in the 22nd Biennial Congress on the Law of the World, which is scheduled in Beijing on Sunday.
In a precise talk to the journalists at the VIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport prior to his departure, Chief Justice Paudel said that discussions would be held in the conference on rule of the law, work scope of the court, judiciary, communications and the like.
Chief Justices from 40 countries will take part in the conference, which will conclude on September 10.
Meanwhile, the King has assigned the senior most justice of the SC, Kedar Prasad Giri, as the acting CJ in the absence of the CJ, the press secretariat of the King stated.
