Kathmandu, September 9- The Supreme Court today stayed an RCCC summon notice to Babita Kumari, the wife of former minister Rajiv Parajuli who is in RCCC’s custody in a corruption case.
A three-member special bench of justices Khil Raj Regmi, Bal Ram KC and Paramananda Jha issued the order following today’s hearing on a case filed against the RCCC summons.
The bench ordered the RCCC not to summon, interrogate or pass any order to her. “As the case against the detention of Parajuli is sub-judice in the special bench of the court, the RCCC cannot intervene in a issue already taken by the SC,” the bench said.
The RCCC had summoned her to record her statement in a case related to the involvement of her husband in a corruption case.
The Supreme Court yesterday ordered the Commission to produce Parajuli before the apex court on Tuesday for a hearing on a habeas corpus petition filed against his detention by the commission.
