RCCC probe continues
Kathmandu, Sept. 2: The Royal Commission for Control of Corruption (RCCC) Thursday continued interrogating senior survey officer and joint secretary Bamdev Deep Adhikary.The investigation team of the Commission had filed a corruption case against Adhikary on Monday in connection with Rs. 5.9 million he had allegedly earned through illegal means. He is in judicial custody as the interrogation is going on. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court Thursday issued a show cause notice to the RCCC in connection with the writ petition seeking immediate release of former minister and RPP leader Rajib Parajuli. Parajuli’s brother had filed the writ petition at the Court on behalf of his brother on Wednesday. The Court fixed the date of next Thursday for the final hearing regarding the petition.Parajuli is in judicial custody, as he could not deposit the bail amount demanded by the RCCC bench on Wednesday. The RCCC bench on Wednesday had fixed the bail amount of Rs. 5.1 million, in connection to his amassing Rs. 15.38 million through corrupt means.
