CIAA, ministry discuss irregularities
Kathmandu, Nov. 18: An interaction programme between the officers of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and officers of the Ministry of Health and Population was held at the CIAA office Wednesday regarding the aberrations that have surfaced at the ministry.Assistant Minister for Health and Population Niksha Shumsher Rana was also present at the programme, a press statement of the CIAA said.Other participants were chief CIAA commissioner, secretary at the ministry, senior ministry officials and medical superintendent of public hospitals of the Kathmandu valley.The probe into the alleged irregularities that have taken place in the health institutions under the ministry and directives issued by the Commission were the agendas of the interaction programme, the commission said.The programme also discussed the issues such as transfer of employees, leaves of the employees of ministry, management of the public hospitals, drug production and its export and import, professional council, establishment of private hospitals, and qualitative services to the people, the commission said.Speaking at the programme, minister Rana said that the Ministry would always maintain vigil regarding the problems seen in the health sector.Chief Commissioner Surya Nath Upadhyaya cautioned that the officers of the Ministry should not repeat such types of irregularities in the days ahead.
