Former CJ unhappy over SC ruling

Kathmandu, Nov 16 - Former Chief Justice (CJ) of the Supreme Court (SC) Mohan Prasad Sharma has expressed dissatisfaction over the recent SC ruling on the case related to the media ordinance and the government's mid-night raid on Kantipur FM.

Speaking during a programme in the capital on Wednesday Sharma said that he was not happy with Tuesday's agreement reached between the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) and the apex court in which the NBA withdrew its threat to boycott courts nationwide today.

The NBA had planned to stage the boycott protesting the SC's recent decision not to grant a stay order on the media ordinance.

"The NBA betrayed the general public by withdrawing their boycott programme," said Sharma.

Meanwhile, the members of NBA today said that they would constantly watch the activities of the apex court in the future.

NBA general secretary Madhav Baskota, however tried to defend the decision of the NBA by saying that they had not yet given in.
