CIAA working on guidelines

Kathmandu, Nov. 20- Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has started formulating guidelines in order to make more effective probe and prosecution against acts of corruption by officials holding public posts.

In this connection, a workshop seminar was held in the presence of the top officials of the anti-corruption body, including Chief Commissioner Surya Nath Upadhyaya.

Three working papers related to investigation and prosecution on land management, citizenship, passport and court hearings were presented at the programme participated in by 45 officials, CIAA said.

The paper presenters Thok Prasad Shiwakoti, Mahesh Kumar Thapa and Yubraj Subedi discussed various methods to be applied as well the rules and regulations to be considered during the course of investigation.

CIAA held a similar workshop two weeks back and will form three working teams to discuss other issues. CIAA said it expected that formulation of new guidelines incorporating all the issues discussed in different seminars would give a clear direction in investigation.
