We need is peace: Ex-justice

Kathmandu, Nov-19-A former justice and member of the Civic Ceasefire Monitoring Committee (CCMC), Kirshna Jung Rayamajhi, has said the political parties can hold talks with the Maoists anywhere in the world as long as the restoration of peace in the country is their motive.
Speaking at a programme organised on Friday in the capital to make a report of the CCMC public, he said: "What we need is peace, not the process to hold talks."

The report has called on the government to provide compensation to the families of Laxmilal Pode (Deula), Chotelal Chaudhari, a section commander of the Maoists and Maoist activists Khagaraj Pant alias Bibek and Ram Bahadur Thapa alias Anamol, who were killed in different incidents. While Deula and Chaudhari were killed in Nala and Kaski, Pant and Thapa were killed in Chormara, Nawalparasi.

Stating that the people have begun feeling secure after the announcement of the ceasefire, he said: "We will call on the Maoists to prolong their ceasefire and the government to declare a truce."

"We have called on the donor agencies to put pressure on the government to declare a ceasefire and the Maoists to continue to hold fire," he said.
